Anna-Lise Kunz, LCSW

Anna-Lise "Annie" Kunz is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in trauma-focused therapy, holding a graduate certification in trauma and bereavement from Arizona State University. She is also a doctoral candidate at the University of Southern California (USC) Dvorak School of Social Work, where she is focused on improving mental healthcare delivery in the US for Afghan immigrants.   She uses she/her pronouns.

Professional History

Annie most recently served as a program director on a federal mental health grant supporting Afghan refugees affected by combat. She has experience in clinical social work, having worked as an outpatient therapist, an intensive outpatient therapist, and an inpatient psychiatric social worker. Her background includes providing trauma-focused therapy to children, teens, individuals, and families. Additionally, she is a clinical supervisor in Arizona and California, where she also offers telehealth services.

Annie is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), KIDNET, FORNET, R-CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Complex Grief-Focused CBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, and other trauma-focused therapy approaches. In her clinical social work practice, Annie has also attended workshops and classes in Counseling in War and Disaster, Art Therapy, Somatic Experiencing (SE), Internal Family Systems, Treating Pediatric OCD, Treating Psychosis, and many other behavioral health topics. She provides Telehealth services to support and advocate for LGBTQIA+ youth and families, adoptees and their families, parents of children with disabilities and medically complex children, as well as refugee and immigrant families and individuals.
